How we are creating change.
Our History
Our Impact
African Children Today (ACT), a Minnesota-based nonprofit, partners with the Rakai Orphans Development Initiative (RODI) to provide long-term support for children in Uganda’s Rakai district. By focusing efforts in one community, ACT helps sustain local jobs, empower sponsored children as they grow, and ensure consistent access to education and skills training. Our mission centers on equipping children with the tools they need to build independent, successful futures.
I Have a Future
#africanchildrentoday
Uganda has over 2.5 million orphans, many affected by AIDS and poverty, with few ever reaching high school. Overcrowded government schools lack resources and trained teachers.
Founded in 2018, ACT Junior Academy offers quality education and instills compassion, integrity, and service. Its students now dream of becoming doctors, nurses, teachers, and business leaders.
“I now have a future.” Their words reflect the academy’s mission—turning hope into opportunity through education.
